Of course banias create scarecity. In that respect America is a Bania and will always remain so. It earns its living by selling arms to the world. It creates terror, war across nations, so that it can sell its arms to those countries. They prefer to throw bags full of wheat into the sea than to ship it across to the starving in Ethopia and welsewhere in the world and if someone takes a stand against them, they like bullies enforce sanctions against that country and then go on to push other countries to do so. What is happening in Iraq is what they want to go on. And that silly dodo called the American Prez is only an extension of his father after all....*sigh*

hoard the food grains and then when the need arises, sell them at 10x the price they bought.
likewise.
after the iraq/afghanistan war, america is probably one of the poorest nations (if all things are calculated), so what else they know apart from bullying the small kids on the block :)
