Dear Maddss,
Thanks for your note but I had already visited! However, what I don't understand is what was the point of all this hoo and haa, if we are to maintain status que. Government is just trying to play the fool I think! It should know it is one!
Julia
Hi Buns,
I know! What a spoilt sport the rain played! But I do hope you had a good wedding - pyaar barse!
Sure thing, in your city! And if you still want the book, do send me your address on email. I will send the book to you, albeit with a heavy heart to let go off Nargis' singnitured copy!!
Enjoy!
Julia
The additional news is over and above what is stated in the post, some facts are to be considered further -
.....and 10%(501) of these flats 5010 in number will go to DDA officials which is never publicised
Total: 1,904 flats reserved for different categories. The rest, 3,106 flats available for others.
This puts an additional burden as all these flats are basically defaulters flats, you will have to hire your own Lawyer to check that the papers DDA is doling out is authentic and this is not a double sale and if I know Delhi right, you can't be sure about either, neither DDA nor the Lawyers!
They are all hand-in-glove.
Go Ahead at your risk only!
Hi Maddss, A very insightful write. In fact, it has given me a fresh look at the way things are. Mahebooba Mufti Sayed's frequent threats may be treated like emotional brackmail without any water in the threats. Rightly said - Go ahead M/s Mahebooba Mufti Sayed, if that’s your place, so be it!! We don’t need you! Excellent! Julia
or if you are a senior citizen...Alas! one might never see that day
Thank you Sampath, it brings to the fore, the state of India as of today!
Julia
Dear Keshu,
If it was Bombay, I would never even think twice. In Delhi I think many times, because the pros and cons are quite different. So you say, I should, risk both money and casteism (if) I manage to get allotted!
Let me think things thru' especially that I am a thoroughbred elite Bengali myself!
Thanks for your kind advice. Loving it!
Julia
Mrs Muffet,
You are right! I just must not! Not for fear of the missing DD only, but for the real fear of the then downtrodden! People need three things in life - food, clothing and shelter. The rest comes later and have you seen, that the basic necessities are getting more dearer to get! This is called the dirty business of, or shall we say, with, dirty politics worldover! Everywhere the story is the same in India.
Julia
Hello Mrs Muffet,
Do you mean to say I must join the lot? Despite - Or in the 5,000 flats, even one of which did not come to me, due to the misfortune of my not being born to the then downtrodden, but now elite class. And the fact that the flats will have already been allotted to Estate agents by unfair means under the cover of fair ones? I wonder!
Thanks for visiting!
Julia
M3- middle class, merit, mediocrity
Aditi, I missed this one....I have only one point to make - the so called elite middle class exists no more as it has been divided into the upwardly mobile and those who could not move up. In fact, there is only one elite class now, and that happens to be the the then downtrodden (see DDA flats on my blog. Alas! in this context, to which MC is Raghu refering to? A great post I would like to visit again tomorrow...very intellectually stimulating! Julia
